University Transfer
Scholarship
Transfer students receive up to $10,000, depending on academic
record. To be considered, transfer students must have earned a
minimum of 24 credits from an accredited institution of higher
learning. Recipients must have an average GPA of over
2.5. Eligibility is determined based on the overall strength
of the academic pool.
NYPD Cadet Corps Scholarship
The College of Professional Studies at St. John’s University is
proud to announce its partnership with the New York City Police
Department to educate the future leaders of law enforcement. The
NYPD Cadet program at St. John’s University is pleased to invite
eligible candidates to apply for our 2011 NYPD Cadet Corps
Scholarship. Sophomore year you can receive $2,500 and junior and
senior year awards of up to $10,000 with a matching grant of
$10,000 from the NYPD Cadet Corps are available to eligible
applicants.
Eligible applicants must:
- be a new transfer student entering St. John’s in the Spring or
Fall of 2011
- be a New York City resident
- be applying to the following majors: Criminal Justice, Legal
Studies, Homeland and Corporate Security, or Computer Security
Systems
- be willing to apply to the NYPD Cadet Corps as they approach
the completion of 45 credits

Stay on Long Island
Initiative
St. John’s University is partnering with Suffolk County
Community College in New York for the Stay on Long Island
Initiative. We will be offering three scholarships to graduates
of Suffolk Community College. One student will receive a full
tuition scholarship and two students will be awarded a $20,000
academic and leadership scholarship. For questions please contact

Transfer Scholarship
Requirements
Applicants are notified of any academic scholarships in their
acceptance letter. To maintain an academic scholarship,
recipients need to enroll in and complete a minimum of 12 credits
per semester at St. John’s with a cumulative grade point average of
at least a 3.0. Students who do not complete 12 credits in a
semester or do not maintain a 3.0 GPA, will be subjected to a
re-evaluation of scholarship eligibility and amount. Academic
scholarships are not applicable to intersession, winter session,
post-session or summer sessions. Transfer student
scholarships are for two or three years of continuous undergraduate
study.
The University reserves the right to adjust any University grant or
scholarship due to receipt of non-University aid. In
addition, the combination of external grants and scholarships
(funded by state, federal and/or private sources) along with
financial assistance from St. John’s may not exceed the cost of
full tuition. The scholarship programs are subject to the
policies and practices of the University’s Office of Student
Financial Services and various regulatory agencies.
