St. John’s offers an intensive English program, The Language Connection (TLC) for international
students who are academically qualified but have lower TOEFL
scores than the University requires. The admission is
conditional based on the completion of the TLC program.
After successful completion of TLC, international students may
begin the degree program of their choice. The Language Connection
is also open to any student for full-time, part-time (day or
evening), and private ESL classes.

St. John's also offers English as a Second Language classes. These
courses are offered in conjunction with degree programs for
students requiring additional English-language support.
Prior to enrolling at St. John's, admitted international
students must take an English placement test, offered by the
University, to assess their English language skills.
